Step 1 –

Create Page titled-  “Disposable Media”

Step 2 -

Create a film using your cell phone or IPad. The film should be approximately one minute long.  Consider the types of shots, lighting and what you are trying to say to the viewer. (There are excellent resources on youtube to give you some ideas of how to make a strong film). Put thought into each shot.  Tips for Pocket Filmmaking

You may work with one other person.

 

(This is an easy assignment to do at home if you miss the day that we do the filming in class--just make film at home)

 

Step 3 –

Upload film to Vimeo and embed into your film in your Disposable Media Unit with a paragraph explaining the strategies you used to create this film. How did you get the media off the camera and onto the computer? Did you edit on your phone or iPad?

The issues that I am struggling with is the snap focus on the camera.  With Tom M. I tapped the screen to focus on a tree and then tapped on Tom to get the illusion of a rack focus. Getting footage off the camera was an issue for some of the students.  The students do not like using I Movie as they have been spoiled by FCP X. How can we bring the to schools without strong budgets or support in their communities?  What are the steps we will need and what innovations will we need to create?
